February Shakeology Challenge

Rules of the Challenge:

*Every participant must post they're starting measurements before starting and after
*Every participant must post accountability daily.  This means if you cheat, you have to post about it and own up to cheating!
*TurboRachel MUST be assigned your coach on TeamBeachbody.com.

The Shakeology Cleanse lasts 3 days.  Every day, you may drink 3 glasses of Shakeology with any ingredients you'd like to add, one piece of fruit, a salad with light dressing and a 4 oz piece of lean meat.  Your salad can be however big you want to make it with whatever veggies you want to add, but keep your dressing to one serving!  And no croutons or cheese!   Drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water.  You may continue your scheduled workout program, just be sure to back off if you feel you're pushing too hard.  The sweating helps though!

Whoever loses the most inches and lb by the end of 3 days wins a $25 Beachbody gift card.  Everyone gets a water bottle just for doing it.  Starting date is February 3rd.

  4. Good morning! Here is my starting weight and measurements:

    CW:198.8
    C: 42"
    W: 36.5"
    H: 40.5"
    Arms: 12.5"
    T: 26"

    I hadn't tried Shakeology,so it was my first time this morning. It was pretty good. I just made it with milk and lots of ice. I am going to try some of the other recipes this weekend. Here we go!

    Allie, the ice helps a lot! You know what else is great, if you have a health store where you are, find some PB2. It's powdered peanutbutter with less fat and only like 50 calories a serving instead of 200. It only has peanuts in it and it goes great with Shakeology!

    I didn't know my arms and legs could be different. The right side is bigger. I measured 3 times like in the P90X book. I have a question I drink Green Shakeology and it's not good plain can I add some juice so it tastes good?

    1. My arms and legs have been different at different times, usually within an 1/2 inch to an inch. It is not unusual.

    I not do arms because I not think they work from cleanse. I have lot of bloating around the middle and the hips.

    1. I have a lot of bloating in my belly too from a bad cheat meal 2 days ago. This is supposed to help clear out all the garbage that causes that bloating and push it out so make sure you keep drinking water and know that it is okay if you have a little stomach upset tonight. This can especially happen if you are new to Shakeology because it's a lot of nutrients to take in at once from actual plant sources and our bodies aren't used to breaking all that down if you don't eat like that regularly. You might be retaining some water in your arms, Pilar. I definitely get swelling in my fingers. I notice it around my wedding ring.

  8. I have a question. i dont eat chicken and eat some fish. Can I eat salmon or something else or does it have to be chicken?

    1. Amber, you could make something like a cobb salad with an egg (no cheese please!). Just try to keep to egg whites or if you have to, only one egg yolk. You can also try a poached egg in a spinach salad with some lemon juice. I think fish like salmon or even tuna (chunk light is best, albacore is high in mercury) would be fine as long as you keep it to 2 or 3 oz and keep your salad dressing really light because fish has a lot of fat, though it's the good kind of fat. Just make sure your fish is wild caught and not farm raised, please. Less heavy metals.

  13. Oof, Pilar, you're right. Last night was hard! A couple weeks ago when our power was out, our neighbor ran a cord from their generator to our house to power a few space heaters and as thanks, I had baked them cookies. I had saved the extras buried on the bottom of the freezer and of course last night in bed, my husband pulled them out and started eating them. I could have killed him! They are all gone now so I am hoping there aren't any other sweets he has stashed somewhere that are going to come out tonight!

  14. OMG last night was so hard for me too I could not sleep at all. I kept having to get up to go to the bathroom LOL I think it is working but my boyfriend is really annoyed with me. I do not care. It is hard but now I feel it working.

  15. I'm definitely noticing my body is flushing out a lot of water. Through my whole workout this morning, I was sweating profusely and I noticed toward the end I stunk! I woke up really sweaty too so I think that's a positive sign of losing some water retention.

  16. I sweated a lot in my workout yesterday. I have been going to the bathroom A LOT! I am off to work out now. PS Don't go to Costco, too many samples to avoid!

  19. I am glad there is only one day left of this! We've made it so far! Yay! Tonight was sort of rough. We met some family at a pizza restaurant and everyone else got pizza and I had to special order a cheeseless salad. Boo. Oh well. I did it, it's over, and I don't have to worry about uncomfortably tight pants after eating a bunch of carbs and fat so, that's a triumph!

  20. There will be no church for us today. Andy has an ear infection (I'm sure of it) and I will probably have no self control if I see the food spread afterward! I think after this weekend, I'm going to have to switch Shakeology flavors. Thank goodness tropical strawberry comes out soon.

  22. My husband has a fever so I have been trying to keep up with all 5 kids on low energy. I am doing though! I am ready to eat food again tomorrow. How do we hold on to our weight/inches loss? BYW Love the green shakeology with strawberries :-). Definitely will be ordering some!

    1. The best way is to keep up clean eating and stay away from foods that cause a lot of bloating/water retention. So, the less you can eat that is processed or contains flour or sugar along with making sure you hydrate adequately will keep this off. And whenever life puts you in situations where you can't avoid eating something unhealthy or you find yourself eating poorly for a while, you can do another cleanse. This should help make sugar less desirable, though, now that it's all out of your system!

  24. We made it! I had a sample pack of chocolate shakeology and actually got one more shake out of it this morning! Well here are my measurements:

    CW: 195.4
    C:40
    W:35.5
    H:40.5
    T: 25.5
    A: 12.5

    I lost a total of 3.4 lbs. and 3.5". Yeah! I definitely notice a different in my waist and chest. I don't look or feel bloated. I am going to keep close track of what I eat to see what makes me bloated and what doesn't. We are suppose to have pizza in the office today, and I have a feeling if I eat it, I will be bloated. I think I will go to Subway instead. I can't wait to see everyone else's results. Go Team!

  28. I also cheated on cleanse yesterday at party. We had football party and i had some chips i could smell it too much.

    My measures are weight: 177
    Waist 38
    Hips 42
    Chest 42

    not much different probly because of the salt from chips oh well.

  30. Oh - one more thing ladies! I can tell you all this on here because this isn't part of the Beachbody site so they won't see this:

    If you decide you like Shakeology and are interested in buying more in the future, when you order it, make sure you order it HD (home direct). HD is the option you can pick if you want TBB to send you a new bag every 30 days. When you get HD Shakeology you get some free workout DVD's the first shipment and with the second one, you get a free shaker cup. That's not why I am telling you about HD, however.

    I personally work the system. I order something HD, like Shakeology, get it in the mail and moments after I get it, I email customerservice@teambeachbody.com and tell them to cancel my HD. The reason I do this is because if you order something HD, you get free shipping! And Shakeology is expensive enough by itself. You won't get any slack from TBB for doing this either so don't worry about that. So anyway, if you were looking to keep using Shakeology and didn't get Shakeologied out this weekend, this is the best way to order it. It's kind of like getting a discount! :)
